In these five CD´s you can hear the sounds uttered by birds nesting throughout India except the Northern mountains and the North East corner of the country. These CD´s illustrate songs and often calls of more than 90% of the total 410 permanently resident species in this region, using contributions from 35 participants.
A bilingual booklet (English - French) is included, which provides information about these recordings and helps fast tracking of each species on the CD.
Furthermore for certain groups, identification keys have been given to enable the listener to recognise species which have similar vocalisations.
A list of the 32 most common species is also provided for those less familiar with the topic and provides an easier way to navigate amongst the bird sounds.
This is the first comprehensive sounds publication on this region. It has been created with the help of the Society of ornithological studies in France an VIStA in India.
